DUBLIN, Calif. (KRON) -- A man is dead and his mother-in-law and father-in-law are behind bars after a daylight shooting at the Dublin Sports Grounds. Jonathan McKinsey, a 40-year-old Dublin resident, was found lying in the parking lot of the facility, which is across the street from the Dublin Police Station.
McKinsey was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to Dublin PD, the two suspects now being held responsible are his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shili Chen and Shouyang Zhang, both aged 76.

The shooting allegedly occurred about 3 p.m. on Saturday.
A Dublin PD officer was driving by the park at the time when he spotted the victim lying on the ground just as the 911 calls began coming in.
The shooting has left the community in shock.
“It's just surprising here in Dublin, it's a quiet community,” said Joshua Boothby, who works at the park.

On Monday, The New York Times confirmed to KRON4 that McKinsey was head of engineering for games at the outlet and had been at the paper since January 2023.
The two suspects were arrested within minutes with the help of witnesses, police said.
They were booked into Santa Rita Jail on first-degree murder charges. Jail records for the two also include charges of child abuse or endangerment. They are currently being held without bail and scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday morning.
No motive in the shooting has yet been announced. However, court documents obtained by KRON4 indicate that McKinsey and his wife, Candice Jang, had each filed separate reports of domestic violence against one another.
